Biomedical Inventions are patented and licensed through the US National Institutes of Health Intramural Research Program (IRP) to the private sector for commercial development.  These cover many disease areas, including cancer, infectious diseases, neurology, ophthalmology, cardiovascular, nanotechnology, etc.
