NIOSH Manual of Analytical Methods Testing and Analysis

The United States National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) publishes a Manual of Analytical Methods (NMAM). The methods detail sampling and analysis of contaminants in workplace air, and in the blood and urine of workers who are occupationally exposed. NIOSH developed these analytical methods to established experimental protocols and performance criteria.
NIOSH recommends that all analytical methods should be evaluated for performance. If the analytical method is used in a laboratory that did not perform the initial evaluation, verification should be performed for comparison.
